"Another instalment in a very long legacy of releases, this is the sequel to Jon's album on ReR called "Hyperstring". Solo improvisations for violin and interactive MIDI powered string samples; Hyperstring is the ongoing project where Jon uses these far out inventions - a pad that measures his bow pressure, an accelerometer that he attaches to his arm and a foot pedal board with two pedals which he uses simultaneously with both feet. These three things combine to trigger and manipulate samples and sounds making layers in real time as though there were multiple musicians on stage at once. Hyperstring is very much a live revelation for solo string playing musicians."
